Our next leg was from Siem Reap to Battambang. We decided to take the boat across Tonle Sap Lake even though it was a few hours longer than the road option because a) it was the tail end of the wet season and the lake was full enough to traverse, b) we were not overly excited about the idea of bumping up and down along unfinished roads for hours on end and c) who doesn't love a water adventure?

We were going local style in a long thin fiberglass shell of a boat with a suspiciously DIY looking motor and a "only in case of desperation" toilet but the perfect weather coupled with the the constantly changing scenery and passengers made it a trip well made.
