Kakadu hats - or Mates as we often call them - come in all shapes and sizes so you're sure to find a Mate that suits you.

But first things first, lets determine your correct size. Remember you want comfortably firm

Kakadu hats - how to measure your head

Wrap a tape measure or a piece of string (if you use string, you'll need a ruler as well) around your head so that it is above your eyebrows and about 1cm / half and inch above your ears. No need to pull too tight - remember you want your hat to be comfy!

There are some slight variations in size depending on the fabric used for the hat - thicker materials mean the hat fit will be a bit tighter and thin fabrics a bit touch looser

Description

Soaka Hat

It starts early on the Camino de Santiago, before the heat settles in and the dust lifts off the track. The Soaka sits light on your head, chinstrap loose, brim doing its quiet work as the miles stack up. Ventilation matters here. So does shade. You walk long, stop short, keep moving.

By midday the sun is high and there is no reason to rush. The hat dries quickly after a rinse at a stone trough, back on your head before the road bends again. It carries easily, never heavy, never precious. This is gear for being out in it, not thinking about it.

Late afternoon ends in the shade of a low wall. Boots off. A glass of Rioja poured without ceremony. The Soaka rests beside you, dusted, creased, exactly as it should be. Built for summer movement. Built to disappear while you go.

Soaka hats are made from specially made poly-suede which is a durable synthetic fiber known for its resilience and ease of care. It has been constructed to be highly durable, quick-drying, and resistant to shrinking and stretching, making it ideal for hats

Care

Machine washable in cold/warm water with a mild detergent for washing; do not tumble dry.
Hang dry or lay flat in the shade. If necessary, use a hairdryer to remove creases caused by squashing or incorrect storage.
Avoid leaving your hat in a hot car.
A good rule of thumb is - if it's too hot to touch, then it's too hot for your hat!
