The Mighty Osaka Castle
Located in the centre of Osaka, Osaka Castle is surrounded by skyscrapers, cherry blossoms and waterways with over 400 years of history. For such a modern bustling city it is hard to fathom a few turns away from the hustle and bustle could land you in another world - or more aptly, another time. Surrounded by a moat and towering, formidable walls stands one of Japan's most famous landmarks, the Osaka Castle, built by a succession of waring clans since 1583. For us it was an oasis away from the dense crowds of downtown.
