We started our first day in Osaka at Dotonbori in the Namba area looking for snacks. With way too many culinary options and a mounting hunger that made us want everything on the menu, we settled on something called kaisendon. What started as a way for sushi chefs to minimise wastage by using up the smaller bits from nigiri made for a super delicious meal with zero wastage from us!

Bellies full we took a stroll down the nearby Tonbori River with no particular destination in mind, taking in the sites and sounds of Osaka.
