Roo Leather Hat

Description
Roo Leather Hat
Morning starts damp on the Overland Track. Cold air sits low between the trees, ground dark and soft underfoot. The Roo is already on, brim steady as the climb begins toward Cradle Mountain. Kangaroo leather stays light, holding shape without stiffness, ventilation keeping heat from building as pace settles in.
By midday the weather shifts. Wind comes off the plateau hard and clean, pushing cloud through fast gaps. The hat packs down when layers come off, then pulls back into shape without complaint. No adjustment. No attention needed. It stays out of the way and does its job.
Late afternoon ends near camp. Boots come off. A meat pie eaten standing up while gear dries on rocks. Later, a Balter XPA opened quietly as light drains from the range. The Roo sits nearby, waxed leather darkened slightly, marked but not tired. Built to move all day. Comfortable when movement finally stops.
