Kakadu hats - how to measure your head

Wrap a tape measure or a piece of string (if you use string, you'll need a ruler as well) around your head so that it is above your eyebrows and about 1cm / half and inch above your ears. No need to pull too tight - remember you want your hat to be comfy!

This hat is built for heat that hangs around and wind that never quite commits to leaving. The Balmoral Breeze Tinnie Drywax Canvas Hat is made from ultra light dry waxed cotton canvas, treated to repel wind and water without shine or grease. The handle is firm and dry, holding its shape while staying light on the head. Practical, not precious.

A ventilation mesh crown keeps air moving when the sun is fixed overhead. The wide brim and water resistant cap manage glare and spray without softening or sagging. Finished with a looped rope brain band and a Western Block profile, it carries enough structure for hard use and enough restraint for everyday wear.

Worn through hot afternoons around Raglan, New Zealand, where salt wind and sun trade places all day. Built to stay on, stay dry, and stay useful when conditions are the point.

Dry waxed canvas

Durable 100% densely woven cotton canvas treated with a specially formulated dry wax to repel wind and water. Dry waxed canvas has a matte, non-greasy finish that is highly durable, suitable for rugged outdoor use and stylish enough for urban environments. Ultra lightweight with a firm dry handle similar to a spent tinnie (beer can) hense the name 'Tinnie'

CARE

Do not wash or dry clean – brush off dirt and debris with a soft brush and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
