Description

Traveller Oilskin Vest

It gets zipped up before first light, camp still quiet on the edge of the Patagonia backcountry. Breath hangs low. Hands move by habit. The vest carries the small things that matter when you do not want to stop moving. Gloves. Torch. Folded map already soft from use.

The track later feeds into the Torres del Paine W Trek, wind cutting across open ground with no warning. You walk longer than planned. Stop less than you should. The vest stays close, weight spread evenly, pockets doing their job without asking for attention. Nothing shifts when you climb. Nothing snags when you drop down into scrub.

Oilskin 

Heavy-duty cotton canvas impregnated with oils and waxes which is wind and water resistant yet breathable. It is durable and ideal for outdoor use, with a distinctive rugged texture that ages beautifully over time

Care
  • Do not wash or dry clean – brush or wipe clean with a damp rag or a spray with a hose if it's really dirty.
  • Rewax as needed to maintain maximum water resistance.
  • To prevent the transfer of oils, avoid prolonged contact between oilskin goods and light-colored fabrics, especially in warm weather.
  • When not in use for prolonged periods, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fabric’s quality and functionality.

much better than I expected

buying online is always a bot of a risk, I read the reviews and took a leap of faith, an boy what a pleasant surprise, the garment is absolutely incredible and the fabric is not what I expected at all, its very very nice, when thinking oil skin for me there is a feel and a smell, this has not got that smell at all and it feels very nice, not sticky so sitting in the car won't leave the old oil skin contamination on the canvas seat covers, this is good enough to wear anywhere without having to worry about the smell or the residue that I am used to with a belstaff, barbour, dryzabone or a sawanndri oil skin. It will be interesting to see how breathable the fabric is. sizing....yeah go a size up, these are definitely running a bit tight. I am glad I went a size up
