Kakadu hats - or Mates as we often call them - come in all shapes and sizes so you're sure to find a Mate that suits you.

But first things first, lets determine your correct size. Remember you want comfortably firm

Kakadu hats - how to measure your head

Wrap a tape measure or a piece of string (if you use string, you'll need a ruler as well) around your head so that it is above your eyebrows and about 1cm / half and inch above your ears. No need to pull too tight - remember you want your hat to be comfy!

There are some slight variations in size depending on the fabric used for the hat - thicker materials mean the hat fit will be a bit tighter and thin fabrics a bit touch looser

Care

Machine washable in cold/warm water with a mild detergent for washing; do not tumble dry.
Hang dry or lay flat in the shade. If necessary, use a hairdryer to remove creases caused by squashing or incorrect storage.
Avoid leaving your hat in a hot car.
A good rule of thumb is - if it's too hot to touch, then it's too hot for your hat!

Great net for wide brim hats when working on farms

Fly nets are must when working on farms and I had used common mosquito head nets over my caps. Yet these are closed top and when wearing wide brim hats, these nets can be a bit too tight. Kakadu's fly net is an open top design and fits well over the brim and adjustable cord at the hem keep away millions of friendly flies wanting to land on my face. Visibility through this net is excellent, and just have to remember that you are wearing the net before trying to drink water or when needing to sneeze or cough!!

Great nets with elasticated band to go around the crown of the hat, and keep it snug, and great closure around the neck to keep everything out.
