Description

Kiwi Workhorse Vest

Winter settles in early along the Appalachian Trail. Mornings start stiff. Breath hangs. You pull the vest on before the light properly breaks, hands finding warmth where they need it most. Movement comes first. Heat follows later.

By midday you are off the ridge and moving through timber, pace steady, weight carried close. The vest stays on. It disappears into the work of walking, bending, lifting. Nothing flaps. Nothing pulls. It just holds its ground.

Come evening, the trail spits you out near a roadside stop outside East Austin. Boots off. Shoulders loosen. A bowl of chili hits the table and the day finally slows. The vest stays zipped. Cold still presses in, but less than before.

Oilskin 

Heavy-duty cotton canvas impregnated with oils and waxes which is wind and water resistant yet breathable. It is durable and ideal for outdoor use, with a distinctive rugged texture that ages beautifully over time

Care
  • Do not wash or dry clean – brush or wipe clean with a damp rag or a spray with a hose if it's really dirty.
  • Rewax as needed to maintain maximum water resistance.
  • To prevent the transfer of oils, avoid prolonged contact between oilskin goods and light-colored fabrics, especially in warm weather.
  • When not in use for prolonged periods, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fabric’s quality and functionality.

Quality Kiwi Workhorse Vest

I like this more than the original Workhorse Vest since this has the better YKK nylon zipper etc, plus the 'sherpa' lining which is more useful for my location (wool mix & looks like it could be recycled thread which would be a good thing). Initially I didn't think it would be as useful & appreciated as it has become. Also I bought this in size S which fits just how I like it as the Workhorse Vest I first bought was M & a little large for my liking. Two deep internal pockets keeps things safe too.

Love it!

It's warm and looks great. Fits per sizing instructions which meant I got to order a size down and it fits awesome. The sherpa texture is lovely too. No complaints from me, just looking forward to my next shop with Kakadu, so pleased to be supporting aussie brands
