Description

Behold the Echuca—a hat that's as tough as a cattle dog and as versatile as a swagman's backpack. This ain't your ordinary hat, no sir! The Echuca embodies a lowkey foray into the rugged spirit and charm of the great Australian outback, ready to accompany you on every dusty adventure.

Crafted from premium cowhide leather, this hat is tougher than a croc’s head. The slicker leather process allows oil to impregnate the leather’s surface, allowing for resistance against the rain. Adventure can be a bumpy ride. That's why it's fitted with a built-in chinstrap facility—no more chasing after your hat when the wind decides to play games. This fine piece of headwear is perfect for shrugging off Mother Nature's fiercest tantrums. Whether you're tramping through the rugged bush, or walking the dog around the block, the Echuca's got your melon covered.

This hat is like a true blue Aussie multitool. With its lowered pinched crown and medium brim adorned with clever ventilation eyelets, the Echuca lets your head breathe as freely as a gum tree in the breeze. It's all about keeping you cool when the heat turns up. The Echuca is topped off with our signature round braided hatband—because a hat without style is like a kookaburra without a laugh!

So, if you're after a hat that combines durability, versatility, and a good ol' dose of Aussie charm, look no further than the Echuca Leather Hat. Slip it on, fasten that chinstrap, and get ready to conquer the wild frontiers in true dinkum style.

The Echuca—where the bush meets your spirit of adventure!

Material & Care

Full Grain Leather

Highest quality bovine leather retaining the complete grain layer. It features the most strength and durability of all leather types, displaying natural textures and uncorrected imperfections that enhance its aesthetic

Care
  • Do not wash or dry clean – brush off dirt with a soft brush or wipe clean with a damp cloth.
  • Periodically apply leather conditioners to maintain flexibility and prevent drying out.
  • Avoid leaving leather goods in a hot car where the high temperatures may affect the quality and finish of the leather.
  • A good rule of thumb is - if it's too hot to touch, then it's too hot for your hat!

Solid, well-bulit leather hat

Size M fits perfectly with my 57cm head. This hat is well constructed with solid, unscratched & smooth cattle leather, looking clean yet feeling like heavy duty. Love the signature round hatband instead of a braided band, making this hat very Kakadu!

Very pleased with my hat which was given as a gift, fits perfectly and is as described. Very comfortable to wear and stays on my head even in the strong winds we have been experiencing lately. Quality is as was expected.

All credit to the Description writer for the Echuca hat for including a cattle dog, a swagman's backpack and a dusty adventure - and that's just in the first paragraph.
Me, I'm a bit leaner with words. It's a pretty decent hat. I've got a small head (for low wind resistance) and the tape measure said 56cm/22inches circumnavigating.... So I bought M for medium and it's firm as a jockstrap. Maybe I needed an M-and-a-bit.... But it doesn't blow off in a top-down '98 Barina Cabrio at 100 kays so I'm travelling in style. The cow had a thin hide but that makes a light hat and I dosed it with dubbin and I'm old so it should do me 'til I die and by then it'll have the sort of well worn character that looks great in an open casket. Well done Kakadu. Good hat, good price, and the four paragraphs of purple prose come for nothing. Bargain.
