Kakadu hats - how to measure your head

Wrap a tape measure or a piece of string (if you use string, you'll need a ruler as well) around your head so that it is above your eyebrows and about 1cm / half and inch above your ears. No need to pull too tight - remember you want your hat to be comfy!

There are some slight variations in size depending on the fabric used for the hat - thicker materials mean the hat fit will be a bit tighter and thin fabrics a bit touch looser

The Brumby Shapeable Leather Hat is built for heat, motion, and days that tip sideways without warning. Cut from embossed pull-up leather, it’s designed to be shaped by hand and broken in through use, not ceremony. It creases under desert sun, darkens after saltwater, and settles into its own form somewhere between a beach fire and a fuel stop that stretches into night.

Worn fishing off the Baja coast, pushing a rattling 4WD across Birdsville Track corrugations, or deep in the dust and noise of the Camel Cup when the crowd thickens and the rules disappear. Ventilation eyelets keep air moving. A leather chinstrap keeps it close when wind or speed takes over. The longhorn badge sits quietly on the band, marking distance, not destination.

Embossed Pull-up Leather

High-quality, aniline-dyed bovine leather treated with a unique blend of oils and waxes. The leather exhibits a beautiful color change effect when the leather is stretched or bent, enhancing its vintage aesthetic and making each piece unique.

CARE

Do not wash or dry clean – brush off surface dirt with a soft brush and/or wipe clean with a damp rag.
Periodically apply a leather conditioner to maintain water resistance and protect the finish.
To avoid oil transfer,
keep away from light-colored fabrics, especially in warm conditions.
Avoid leaving leather goods in a hot car where the high temperatures may affect the quality and finish of the leather.
A good rule of thumb is - if it's too hot to touch, then it's too hot for your hat!
